Securities Commission at the first SEE Fintech Forum: Finticipate

The first SEE Fintech Forum on the future of financial services - Finticipate was held on Friday, June 3rd, 2022, at the Mona Plaza Hotel in Belgrade and via on-line platform. The first panel “Turning buzzwords into action” kept the public-private dialogue going. The moderator and the speakers were Nebojša Bjelotomić, President, Digital Serbia Initiative, Filip Šaravanja, Fintech Coordinator, from HANFA, Croatia, Robert Ilijaš, Founder & CEO, Identyum from Croatia, Nenad Paunović, Director of the Team for IT and Entrepreneurship, Office of the Prime Minister, Government of the Republic of Serbia, and Marko Janković, Chairman of the Securities Commission Republic of Serbia. 

The regional policy-makers, regulatory authorities and fintech-community representatives explored the following topics: cooperation, risks and investor protection, the creation of fintech ecosystems in Serbia, how does fintech support digital transformation and the wider digital ecosystem, the role of fintech in govtech, the influence of fintech on local economies and local business – risks and opportunities, bridging the gap between innovative technology and the needs of the community and policy makers etc.  
 
One of the topics included the experiences with the implementation of the new Law on Digital Assets so far.

Fintech is a portmanteau, a word blending and combining the meanings of the words financial technology and innovation, it refers to the integration of technology into the delivery of financial services.
