Workshop “New Faces of Financial Crime – Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Proliferation in the Capital Market” Organized by the Commission and the OSCE Mission to Serbia

Organized by the Securities Commission in cooperation with the OSCE Mission to Serbia, a workshop entitled “New Faces of Financial Crime – Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Proliferation in the Capital Market” was held on May 28, 2026, at the premises of the Commission.

The workshop was opened by the Secretary of the Commission, Goran Kuprešanin, and Zoran Popović, representative of the OSCE Mission to Serbia. The aim of the workshop was to familiarize participants in the capital market and digital assets sector with modern forms of money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing, their criminal, economic, and regulatory consequences, as well as the role of the Securities Commission and entities under its supervision in preserving the integrity of the financial market.

More than 80 representatives from various institutions participated in the workshop, including custodians, management companies, investment firms, credit institutions, and providers of services related to digital tokens. In addition, students from the Faculty of Security Studies, the Faculty of Economics, and the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade attended the event.

During the continuation of the program, participants were introduced to the economic and legal aspects of market abuse in the capital market, as well as practical challenges in the field of anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and proliferation financing. Special emphasis was placed on the analysis of market manipulation and the regulatory frameworks applied in practice, with consideration of the role of supervisory institutions and reporting entities in safeguarding the integrity of the financial system.

Participants had the opportunity to hear presentations by experts from the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Economics of the University of Belgrade, representatives of the Commission and the Belgrade Stock Exchange, as well as capital market participants, through panel discussions and the exchange of experiences.
